The Shimoda was great but sold it after I got the peak design 30L. At 45L and 60L, I think there are better options than PD. I have dropped cameras and lenses out of the side on several occasions (at least I know to only open the bag on the ground or on a table). I only haven’t got rid of it as I don’t want to inflict it on someone else.

Apart from the looks, the Travel Backpack 30L’s robust build and structuredness still feel very confidence-inspiring. Aluminum hardware adds a nice premium touch whenever you adjust or fiddle with the bag. Additionally, bits of Hypalon are scattered around, most notably around the main compartment’s zipper pulls, making them nice and grabbable. I tried some of the more hiking oriented backpacks such as the Shimoda Explore 30L and still have a 60L in my closet. They're somewhat more comfortable but the difference isn't huge for this 30L size.

I still like the look of the peak but it isn't enough to use anymore. I think one of the wandrd handle is tearing up tho, but both are still in good condition. A lot of people use this backpack for work and not just for cameras. It definitely blends in better than some of the other options out there. Perhaps it is (has become) a US-thing, but the optics are quite different from regular photo-dedicated backpacks (with the exception of some Clik Elite).

If we have any nitpicks with this laptop sleeve, it’s that it can feel a bit deep for smaller laptops. We’ve seen Peak Design use adjustable ones on other bags like the Everyday Backpack Zip 20L (V2) and Everyday Backpack 30L (V2), so we would have liked to see the same here. We also noticed that the loop and hook fasteners on the tablet and laptop sleeve feel a bit small and somewhat easy to miss.

I don't think any of us need another cameea bag, especially one this heavy. If you leave the top zipper in place and pull the bottom zipper up to meet it, the side opens more fully. When my current backpack finally fails, I bet I'll get one of these. Oh, it has one redeeming feature, it accommodates a PD tripod well. More along the lines of a Z8, or other flagship/pro model MILCs. My only complaint is the flexfold or whatever it's called.
Despite its rigid shape, it's well-built and as comfortable as you can hope. All of that, and it looks fantastic on your back in just about any situation. There’s a reason this thing is as popular as it is. We’ve had no durability issues with the bag itself, but we’ve found a lot of loose threads and fraying edges on included FlexFold dividers.
Peak Design crafted this backpack with your travel needs in mind. They even use Micro-Pak Dri Clay packets instead of synthetic silica packets, since they take less energy, water consumption, and no chemicals to produce. The 30L capacity is an excellent choice for most people, and a size that makes it perfect to use as a personal item for most flights. Of course, the absence of drastic change isn’t an inherently bad thing. In our eyes, Peak Design has always been on point with their aesthetics. I put a camera cube at teh very top, with acces to my lenses using the top flap, everything kept tidy. And I use the lower sections for my camera bodies and larger lenses, accessories in the side pockets. In its stock form, there is some room for improvements.
You're easily going to be able to throw two sub-full-frame camera bodies into this and three to four zoom lenses (or an entire collection of primes if you mostly shoot fixed, like me). Peak Design claims that you can fit a full-frame DSLR strapped to a mm into this, too, and I believe them, though like other mirrorless converts, it's not something I can easily verify. There's a pretty solid argument that the Peak Design Everyday Backpack is the best-looking camera backpack on the market (though I'll be the first to admit that's hugely subjective).
